School to close for repairs
The decision to shut Oxgangs Primary - which comes after a building survey was carried out this week - has been described as a “precautionary measure” by education bosses.
It is expected the school will reopen on April 11.
In the meantime, the city council will provide alternative arrangements at other locations from Thursday so pupils’ education can continue until the start of the holidays.

Councillor Paul Godzik, education leader, said: “By closing the school now it means the necessary works can be started immediately.
“The Council will be providing alternative arrangements at other locations to ensure pupils’ education can continue until the start of the Easter holidays.
“I want to reassure parents this is a purely precautionary measure but I am sure everyone will agree that the health and safety of our pupils and staff is paramount.”
Parents will be updated tomorrow afternoon regarding alternative arrangements which will run until the start of the Easter holidays.
