School league tables: Kinlochbervie High makes a comeback

A HIGHLAND school ranked among the worst in Scotland last year has made a dramatic improvement.

Kinlochbervie High School, which has just 62 pupils, saw 44 per cent of students gain three or more Highers, up from 11 per cent last year.

Figures released last December, before the school had appealed some of its results, had shown that 0 per cent of pupils gained three of more Highers, putting it joint worst in the country.

Yesterday’s figures also show that 13 per cent of pupils at the school gained five or more Highers in 2012, compared with 0 per cent in 2011.
