STREET children from Nicaragua were due to visit a city primary today to show off their football talents.

St Catherine's RC Primary School is hosting a visit with young players from the Nicaraguan Street Child World Cup while the team stop off in Edinburgh after finishing third in the South African leg of the tour.

The children took part in the Street Child World Cup seven-a-side competition in Durban, South Africa, from 15 to 22 March.

Pedro Gunson, Edinburgh co-ordinator at Casa Alianza, said:

"Life on the streets in Managua is inconceivably difficult and dangerous.

"This is a monumental trip, which will hopefully be a positive and life-changing experience."
