School flying the flag for environment

THE Capital’s largest school has been awarded a Green Flag for being environmentally friendly.

It is the second time Eco Schools has handed its highest honour to Portobello High School, in Duddingston Road.

The school was recently visited by inspectors who were impressed by the efforts made by pupils and teachers to be environmentally friendly.

A school spokesman said: "This is a fantastic achievement."
