Royal Guard greets High Commissioner at Holyroodhouse

THE Highlanders 4th Battalion greeted the arrival of the Lord High Commissioner with a Royal Guard at the Palace of Holyroodhouse yesterday.

A direct representative of the monarch, The Right Honourable Lord Wilson of Tillyorn is in Edinburgh to open the General Assembly of the Church of Scotland.

By custom, the Lord High Commissioner addresses the Assembly at its opening and closing sessions.

A 21-gun salute by 105 Regiment Royal Artillery (volunteers) was due to be heard at 9:56am today.
