Pupils have eye on east

SIX pupils from Balerno High School have made it through to the final of a Chinese speaking competition.

The youngsters will compete against 90 other pupils from schools across the UK in the HSBC/British Council Chinese Speaking Competition at the British Museum in London on 4 March.

They will show off their language skills in a bid to win a trip to Beijing this coming Easter.

The Balerno pupils have already taken part in a regional heat.
