Pupils book up workshops

PUPILS from four city primaries have taken part in workshops at the National Library of Scotland as part of World Book Day.

The workshops, for P5-7 pupils, were designed to celebrate and encourage the joy of reading.

Youngsters from Carrick Knowe, Abbeyhill, Prestonfield and Preston Street primaries have been led by a team of experts including curators, education officers and the library's writer-in-residence during the workshops.

Beverley Casebow, education and outreach officer at the National Library of Scotland, said: "This initiative was met with an enormous amount of enthusiasm."
