£2.6m grant to modify the gene pool

A £2.6 million grant has been awarded to Edinburgh University to help research on issues such as genetically modified food and genetic medicine.

The Economic and Social Research Council has awarded the money to the ESRC Genomics Forum.

Established in 2004, the Forum pioneers new ways to promote social research on contemporary life science issues and has grown into a UK hub for social science knowledge exchange.
