'Oscar' glory for lecturers

LECTURERS and tutors have been honoured by their students at Edinburgh University's "teaching Oscars".

Edinburgh University Students' Association held its second annual awards ceremony for lecturers on Wednesday to celebrate teaching excellence.

More than 3,200 nominations were submitted, with 420 staff, 155 courses and 55 departments being nominated for awards.

The 13 award winners were selected by a student panel.
