New learning centre sure to be on the ball

The Hibernian Learning Centre, set up by the Hibernian Community Foundation in partnership with Jewel & Esk College, is designed to reach a wide range of people and offer them a variety of courses.

The centre, opened yesterday, is a place where people who are nervous of education, or who might otherwise not have access to learning, can take the first steps to develop IT, literacy and numeracy skills.

It focuses in particular on people looking to enhance their skills for employment, such as young people in care, migrant workers and families, ex-offenders and homeless people.
