Glasgow University honour for gold-winner Katherine Grainger

OLYMPIC gold medal-winning rower Katherine Grainger has been honoured by her former university.

She was named Glasgow University’s Young Alumnus of the Year after her victory.

Grainger, 36, who received a Masters in medical law and medical ethics from Glasgow in 2001 after completing a law degree at Edinburgh University, said: “I felt the big focus for me this year would be the Olympics, and winning it was everything I wanted it to be.
