Fairview International School Bridge of Allan: New low cost packages for early years students

Fairview International School, Bridge of Allan, announces new scheme to help with the cost-of-living crisis, making the IB school a more affordable option than many nurseries

Fairview International School has announced a new Explorer campaign to support nursery students transition to full-time education and offer families more affordable access to an International Baccalaureate (IB) education.

Half price tuition fees

Supporting families to harness the benefits of entering the International Baccalaureate (IB) education system at the earliest opportunity, the school is offering a 50% discount on tuition fees for Year 1 entry, with 20% off for the following two years, enabling more families to enrol their children from 4 ½ years old.

Additionally, the school offers discounts for families that have more than one child at the school, starting at 10% for the first sibling, 20% for the second and 30% for the third.

As part of the Explorer campaign, the school has launched a series of initiatives to help nursery children get used to the school environment and introduce them to IB learning style, including a regular reading group set up with a local nursery, where Primary Years Programme (PYP) students buddy up with the nursery children to provide 1-1 reading sessions.

Free Forest School

For those looking to get a taster of what Fairview can offer, the school is set to launch a new Forest School. In the free programme, nurseries are invited to trail a Woodland outdoor experience for their children aged 3-4 years. Being picked up and dropped off from the school minibus, the nursery children will be encouraged to develop respect for the natural world by exploring the woodland in order to develop healthy bodies and minds; encouraging and improving social skills, motivation and concentration.

For students who choose to progress their education at Fairview, Forest School will play an ongoing part in their school journey up to Year 6, teaching everything from knot tying and species identification, to den building, and land and woodland management.

Other initiatives launching as part of the explorer campaign include transition days, teacher outreach and sports days, promoting interaction and friendly competition with other schools in the local area. Weekly Fun and Phonics sessions will also be delivered with Fairview’s PYP teacher Mr Jonny, focusing on fun activities that promote fine motor skills; practicing letters and numbers, educational games, and open-ended play promoting holistic learning in a fun safe environment.

Seamless transition

Headteacher of Fairview International School, Bridge of Allan, David Hicks, said: “We would highly recommend that students join us straight from nursery as it prepares them for a seamless transition into the Primary Year Programme (PYP), which runs from Year 1 to Year 6, providing them with the best possible start to their education.

“We hope that the range of initiatives we have introduced as part of our Explorer program, along with offering 50% off tuition fees for that first year, will help students and parents to take the first step to begin their journey with us.”

The school recently celebrated achieving IB World status with the certification of its Middle Years Programme (MYP) and shortly after received its second IB accreditation with the certification of its Primary Years Programme (PYP). Fairview is currently a candidate school for the Diploma Programme (DP), and upon anticipated authorisation of the DP in 2023, Fairview will become the first school in Scotland to offer the full, uninterrupted IB continuum.
