Eleven schools facing axe in Moray
The local authority is reviewing education provision in the region and has pledged to spend £70 million in bringing school buildings up to acceptable standards.
Moray Council’s major shake-up, however, would see catchment areas realigned, resulting in the closure of some old schools and mergers.

Hide AdThe independent review recommends a new coastal primary to built in Buckie to replace a number of small schools there.
Forres would lose a primary, and a new school in the south west of the town would result in the closure of Dallas and Logie primaries.
It also recommends a reorganisation of the area’s secondary schools which would see the closure of Milne’s High in Fochabers.
If the closure of Milne’s High goes ahead pupils would transfer to Elgin or Keith.
