Consultation opens on new school design

A PUBLIC consultation on the new Lasswade High School is under way to get the views of the community who will use it.

Following the selection of Building Design Partnership to take forward the design process, a programme of workshops has been arranged to find out what the public would like to see.

The designers aim to capture the vision, values and ideas of the community and will create sketches to offer alternatives and ideas as they are generated by the participants.

Council leader Derek Milligan said: "We have already sought the views of the school and local community regarding what should be included in the new campus and we are just as keen to get their views on the design and look of the new facilities.

"Pupils, parents, teachers, staff and community groups will have the chance to make their views known at meetings with the designers."
