College marks 40th birthday

STEVENSON College is celebrating its 40th anniversary this year with a series of commemorative events.

A fashion show with clothes and music from the past four decades will be held, along with an Opportunity Knocks-style talent show and events highlighting how sports and fitness have changed over the past 40 years.

The college is also launching a commemorative logo to mark the anniversary.

Principal Brian Lister said: "The college has come a long way since 1970. Then, we had 3,000 students and today Stevenson is one of the largest further education colleges in Scotland, with over 18,000 students."
