Albarra ready to do battle at war museum

SEVEN-YEAR-OLD Albarra Othman has fun trying on the battledress of a 14th century Medieval mercenary.

Albarra, who lives in Edinburgh, donned the outfit to highlight the new programme of forthcoming events at the National War Museum in the Capital.

The events, which get under way on 3 April, range from a look at life in the trenches of WW1 and the role of women during the war, to the chance to uncover the real story of knights and mercenaries in medieval Britain.

Stories of the horrors of casualty stations and the backbreaking toil of digging the land will also be on offer.
