Water Coolers Scotland expands with £340k from BoS

WATER Coolers Scotland is to expand its Purely Scottish bottled water brand south of the Border for the first time after Bank of Scotland pumped £340,000 into the business.

The company aims to more than double Purely Scottish’s turnover in the next 12 months to £3.2 million and grow its headcount by 20 per cent to 48.

Kelty, Fife-based Water Coolers Scotland – which holds contracts to supply the brand to Aldi, Asda, Morrisons and Tesco – is also buying its premises at Oldhamstocks, near Dunbar, which it previously leased.

John Scrymgeour-Wedderburn, managing director at Purely Scottish, said: “It’s a really exciting time for the brand. We’re now able to secure the future of our Scottish natural mineral water, which is sourced directly from our site near Dunbar.”

Water Coolers Scotland was founded in 1998 and bought Purely Scottish in 2011.
