Robertson heads NFU
The new director general of the NFU of England and Wales is the former chief executive of NFU Scotland, Andy Robertson.
In addition to his link with the Scottish Union, Robertson, who will take up the role in the autumn, had previously served as Scotland’s chief agricultural officer.
Currently working as assistant director for transport and environment at East Sussex County Council, he said he was delighted with the opportunity to lead the NFU and to work in an organisation he passionately believed in and cared about.
“I look forward to working with the members and staff to promote and support British farmers and farming.”
