Launch of Arran Brewery’s £4m fundraising

ARRAN Brewery managing director Gerald Michaluk will today formally launch his plans to raise up to £4 million through crowdfunding to upgrade his current site and open two further breweries on the mainland.

Michaluk plans to issue up to 50,000 new “B” shares in his company, representing 4.76 per cent of its share capital and valuing the business at about £80m.

He will use the cash to upgrade the brewery on Arran, develop a brewery at Loch Earn and open a brewery and micro-distillery on the site of the former Rosebank distillery at Falkirk.

In return, shareholders will receive discount vouchers for the firm’s beer and for stays at its guesthouse on Arran and the Drummond Hotel on Loch Earn.

Arran Brewery is following in the footsteps of Brewdog, which used crowdfunding to shift its brewery from Fraserburgh to Ellon and open an international chain of bars.
