Innis & Gunn mark tenth birthday with first lager

INNIS & Gunn chief executive Dougal Sharp has toasted the tenth anniversary of his beer brand by launching its first lager.

The Edinburgh-based outfit, which produces its beers at Tennent’s Wellpark brewery and Marston’s, launched its lager in kegs last night, with bottles going on sale in September. Sharp said: “Innis & Gunn beers are pretty complex. They’re not light sessionable beers so I wanted to give consumers a refreshing but flavourful lager.”

The lager is the first unoaked tipple – apart from its Melville’s fruit beer – the firm has produced, with its other creations aged in whisky or rum casks.
