Silent Herdsman – formerly Embedded Technology Solutions – has developed a behaviour-monitoring collar, worn by an animal, that can trigger alerts to a farmer’s mobile phone, tablet or laptop. Changes in activity can indicate when a cow is ready to breed, for example.

The funding has been made by a syndicate led by Scottish Equity Partners. Partner Stuart Paterson said: “The company is rapidly making sales both in the UK and internationally.”
