Graham’s expands with takeover of First Milk dairy
The family firm has acquired the Glenfield Dairy which produces cottage cheese, quark and sour cream and said the deal was part of a growth strategy for the business.
Graham’s, which will take over the site which employs 79 staff next week, produces dairy products including milk, butter, cream, cheddar cheese, and has recently launched low fat yogurt and luxury ice-cream ranges.

Hide AdManaging director Robert Graham said: “This is an exciting acquisition for us as it allows us to extend our product range for customers and consumers even further, with the addition of cottage cheese and quark.
“In addition, this presents great potential to explore further new product development going forward.”
First Milk’s chief executive Mike Gallacher said the Glenfield sale followed a “full strategic review” by the board and will allow it to focus more on its core businesses including hard cheese.
“The announcement is also a good deal for our Glenfield employees, our customers and consumers. Glenfield fits well with Graham’s other well-established dairy operations and the sale protects employment at the site and hence the broader Scottish dairy sector.”
