Farming - Highland Rural launch new land agency

A joint venture between three experienced practitioners and Dingwall & Highland Marts has seen the creation of Highland Rural, a new land agency with a focus on a realistic, down-to-earth relationship with its clients.

The group, which will be based at the mart’s Humberston site, is made up of John Fyall FIA FAAV, Pippa Cliff MRICS and Nigel Fraser MRICS - and claims that lessons and working practices picked up during the Covid restrictions will allow it to work across the whole of the highlands and islands.

Fyall is weel-kent face to many in the industry as a farmer and through involvement with NSA, SAYFC and a background in livestock marts before working for the last 12 years as an independent agent representing farmers and major construction and utility firms, while Cliff and Fraser have worked for National land agents in Inverness for the last 12 years.

“This started out at the beginning of the Covid period with a few individuals who wanted to create a land agency that was client orientated and could bring experienced practical knowledge to create results,” said Fyall.

He said the business would be working with owners and occupiers, tenants and crofters across the area.

“There is a strong interest in our working area from all sorts of developers and investors, and with traditional estate and farmer interests competing with other pressures on land use, we hope to provide a service that is friendly and personal, delivering advice with efficiency and value for money,” said Fyall.
