Aquapharm in research tie-up

Scottish marine biotechnology firm Aquapharm has signed an agreement with an international research organisation to share access to each firm’s unique microbe collections.

The Oban-based firm will share know-how and resources with the Centre for Agricultural Bioscience International (CABI), paving the way for the future commercialisation of a variety of microbial strains and extracts.

Paul Bridge, CABI’s director of bioservices, said the agreement will allow the two groups to combine “access to a wide variety of [microorganism] strains that our researchers can use in the future development of products for the benefit of mankind.”
