Muslim's donate about £17k to Scottish charities

The Ahmadiyya Muslim Community Scotland will host the Beacon of Peace charity cheque presentation along with an Iftar dinner.

The Ahmadiyya Muslim Elders Association Scotland will be holding its Beacon of Peace Scotland Charity Cheque Presentation and Iftar Dinner, at event dedicated to celebrating charitable giving and community spirit. The event will take place this Sunday March 16 at 4pm at the Baitur Rahman Mosque Complex, in the West end of Glasgow.

This special occasion will highlight the presentation of funds raised during the 2024 Beacon of Peace Scotland 5K Fun Walk/Run, organised by Ahmadiyya Muslim Elders Association (AMEA) Scotland. Hundred percent of total funds raised last year almost £17,000 will be distributed to beneficiary charities in Scotland, emphasising the community's commitment to supporting those in need, including the poor and vulnerable.

The event coincides with Ramadan, the Islamic fasting month, adding a special significance to the occasion. Following the Cheque Presentation, attendees will be treated to a special Iftar Dinner, fostering a sense of unity and cohesion.
