WPP sees UK sales soar to £262m

WPP, the world's largest advertising group, yesterday reported rocketing third quarter sales in the UK.

Total year-on-year sales from the UK were up 7.4 per cent to 262.3 million in the three months ending 30 September, having grown by 5.1 per cent in the second quarter. WPP's figures are viewed as an economic bellwether because companies' spending on advertising can reflect their confidence.
