Wood Group develops Eni relationship

WOOD Group, the Aberdeen-based energy services firm, has won a further engineering contract with Eni Australia.

Eni already uses Wood to carry out maintenance on its Blacktip gas field.

The new contract covers the Blacktip field, along with the Woollybutt oil field and the forthcoming Kitan development. The value of the contract was not disclosed.

Les Thomas, board director responsible for Wood's production facilities, said: "We are delighted to be awarded this contract and welcome the opportunity to expand on the support that we currently provide to Eni Australia.

"This contract award represents a further progression of Wood Group's presence and continued expansion in Australia."

Italian oil company Eni entered the Australian market in 2 001 and focuses on deep-water drilling.
