Wetherspoon rings changes in capital

PUB operator JD Wetherspoon will open its latest Edinburgh bar in a week's time, creating 55 jobs. The company has spent £600,000 re-developing the outlet, on the site of the former Ivory Lounge bar on George Street. Prior to that, it was called Bar 38.

Under the Wetherspoon brand, it will trade as The Alexander Graham Bell, and will open its doors on 4 June.

The watering hole will be named after the inventor of the telephone, who was born just around the corner at 16 South Charlotte Street. Wetherspoon already runs The Standing Order on George Street.
