Webinar series launched to support Scottish businesses affected by coronavirus

A new webinar series launched last week to unite the Scottish business community being impacted by the COVID-19 pandemic.

The free webinars are designed to provide practical support and help businesses make the hard decisions they are being faced with daily and have been organised by the Scottish Business Resilience Centre (SBRC).

CEO at SBRC Jude McCorry said “There are lots of companies out there who don’t know what to do in this new world and there is a huge need for advice and guidance. We want to bring that together in one place to help Scottish businesses become resilient.”

The first webinar held last week covered measures to manage cash flow, director’s obligations and potential business rescue measures.

The broadcast also included an overview of the new financial measures available through government and agency support and who business should speak to in advance of seeking these funding measures.

The second webinar held on 27 March saw SBRC team up with legal experts to offer guidance on legal implications for businesses during COVID-19.

Police Scotland Chief Inspector Colin Convery also joined the webinar to discuss the new law enforcement powers and what businesses can do to assist the police.

The next webinar is taking place on Tuesday 1st April at 10am. The topic is, COVID-19: View from the Venture Capital Community. Participants include Jock Millican chairman of LINC Scotland, Sandy McKinnon of Pentech Ventures, Aidan MacMillan of Par Equity, Alistair Forbes of Prodsight and Ian Mitchelmore of the British Business Bank.
