Weather boosts demand for hayfever pills

UNSEASONABLY warm weather has sent sales of hayfever tablets soaring.

Supermarket group Sainbury said that sales were up a record 57 per cent in the last week of March – with the increase in demand starting in January.

A spokeswoman said: “We all love it when the days get longer and the temperature begins to rise, but for millions of people around the UK this is also the sign that symptoms such as sneezing, itch eyes and a stuffy nose are on the way.”
