Vodafone to create 1,400 jobs in store expansion

Mobile phone giant Vodafone today unveiled plans to create 1,400 jobs by adding 150 branches to its store estate over the coming 12 months.

The company said the high street push would take its investment in UK networks and services to a record £1 billion this year.

Vodafone UK chief executive Jeroen Hoencamp said: “This year we’ll invest more than ever before to provide our customers with the strongest network and best services in the UK.

“Our £100 million retail investment this year will increase our ability to serve our customers better with highly skilled personal advice and support in 150 brand-new locations.”

Prime Minister David Cameron said the store expansion plan was “a fantastic vote of confidence in the UK workforce”.
