The funding, from Panoramic Growth Equity, is the first external investment brought in by Edesix. The cash injection will see Panoramic take a minority stake in the firm and partner David Wilson join its board.
Co-founder and chief executive Richie McBride said: “Our ambition is to become the market leader in secure body-worn video devices worldwide.”
McBride established Edesix with co-founder Robin Iddon in 2002. The pair had previously worked together at computer networking pioneer Spider Systems and founded Axon Networks, which was sold for $65 million (£40m) in 1996.
