Version 1 boosts Edinburgh-based Microsoft practice

IT services provider Version 1 has bolstered its Microsoft practice in Edinburgh with the appointment of David Gardiner as UK portfolio director.

Gardiner, an accredited knowledge management professional, has held senior commercial, advisory and solution specialist roles with a range of Microsoft partners across the UK.

He said: “These are exciting times with workplaces set to be transformed through digital collaboration technologies which enable innovation, agility and speed to market for products and services.

Gardiner is now set to lead a delegation to the 2016 Microsoft Worldwide Partner Conference, which runs from Sunday to Thursday in Toronto, Canada. More than 15,000 attendees are expected at the networking event, which will feature a keynote speech from Microsoft chief executive Satya Nadella.

Version 1 was founded in Ireland 20 years ago and now employs 800 people, including 200 in the UK. In 2013 it acquired Edinburgh IT consultancy Rocela.
