Vaping retailer VPZ opens shop in Edinburgh's Bruntsfield

Edinburgh vaping retailer VPZ – which says it is the largest firm in the sector in the UK – has opened a store in Bruntsfield, creating five jobs.

The new outlet is its first since the Covid-19 lockdown, and director Doug Mutter said the firm has had to adapt to the changing retail landscape.

He said: “We understand that not all of our customers are able to travel to our stores. The high street is having to adapt to much smaller footfall. That is why we have opened this new store within a more residential area to ensure we can still serve our customers, without requiring them to take excessive travel.

Mutter added: “Vaping represents a huge public health opportunity and the market will continue to grow as increasing numbers of smokers recognise its effectiveness in helping people to quit smoking.”

The firm earlier this year announced plans to invest £12 million in its shops in the next two years, repeating its aim to grow the total to 300 in that period.
