University of Glasgow acquires thousands of square feet in city’s west end

The University of Glasgow has acquired office space in the city’s west end in a key commercial property deal.

The University of Glasgow has acquired Pavilions 3 and 4 of the Berkeley Square office complex on Berkeley Street in the west end, totalling 30,740 square feet.

The acquisition of two pavilions of the Berkeley Square office complex is part of the institution’s relocation from offices at 200 Renfield Street in the city centre and part of its wider “Campus Vision” strategy.

Martin Speirs, associate at Cushman & Wakefield, who was involved in the assignation, said: “Berkeley Square offers fantastic office space in an ideal location for the university. The nearby Finnieston district has become a hugely desirable location to not only live and socialise but also work in, and so naturally occupiers see this vibrant area as a great location for their businesses to thrive in.”

Ian Campbell, executive director of estates at the University of Glasgow, said: “Berkeley Square offers high quality office space close to our main campus in the west end of the city.

“It will accommodate researchers and staff from across University Services, allowing us to support the world-class learning, teaching and research at the University of Glasgow.”
