Unique deal for marine rentals firm
A Middle East-based subsea and offshore business with its UK headquarters in Dyce has bought GSE Rentals, the Aberdeen-based marine survey equipment rental specialist.
Unique Group, which is based in the United Arab Emirates, said the Scottish company’s workforce would be retained and GSE Rentals’ former owner, Stan Moroney, will remain involved as a business adviser.
Unique said the deal – the price of which has not been disclosed – would allow it to strengthen its presence in non oil and gas markets, such as renewable energy projects, submarine cables and civil projects.
GSE Rentals will continue to operate from its facility in Aberdeen.
Moroney said the sale would allow the company to invest further in its rental arm to boost its offering.
