Trinity Mirror beefs up Sundays arm

Newspaper group Trinity Mirror yesterday named former Sunday Express editor Sue Douglas as publishing director of its Sunday papers arm.

The division includes the Sunday Mail in Scotland as well as the Sunday People and Wales on Sunday.

Former ITV commercial executive Rupert Howell has become chairman of the Sunday brands arm. He has also been appointed group transformation director reporting to chief executive Simon Fox. The pair had been involved in a recent failed bid to buy a majority stake in the Sunday People.
