Tourism groups offered £1m aid

Tourism body VisitScotland yesterday announced a new growth fund with £1 million to award over the next three years.

The fund is designed to support tourism groups in marketing their products to the maximum potential.

It is open to "destination organisations" and industry groups, and can offer up to 50 per cent of marketing costs to develop and deliver new marketing activity.

VisitScotland said it will offer grants of between 5,000 and 65,000, and groups will have to commit to a three-year period of activity to "sow, reap and harvest from their marketing efforts".
