Tom Drury quits Shanks to be near family

WASTE management firm Shanks Group yesterday said its chief executive, Tom Drury, would leave the company by the end of October.

He is set to join Manchester-based private company Arrow Global as chief executive and will become a shareholder in that business. Shanks - founded as a construction business in Scotland in 1880 - said a search to find a replacement for Drury was under way.

Drury said: "This is a lifestyle decision that allows me to spend more time with my family in Cheshire. I've enjoyed my four years at Shanks."
