MGM, which already operates across 12 Scottish sites, will take over Robert Reid & Sons of Hamilton and expects to boost the latter’s turnover by at least 50 per cent within the next two years. Now in its 69th year of trading, Robert Reid will help MGM better serve its customers in the area alongside MGM’s existing branches in Glasgow, Wishaw and Ayrshire.
David Mansell, managing director of MGM, added that Robert Reid will continue to trade under its current name and all staff will be retained. Meanwhile, as first announced in April, the firm continues to seek a presence in Aberdeen and Edinburgh.
Established in 1991, MGM Timber has been part of the family-owned James Donaldson Group since 2005.
