Third Barclays director jumps ship to de Broe

WEALTH manager Williams de Broë has continued to expand its Scottish operation with the appointment of another ex-Barclays Wealth director, Paul Mefford.

The new investment director joins two other recent recruits poached from the same Glasgow-based rival, Rosie Daniels and Catherine McMorrin, bringing the number of partners with Williams de Broë in Scotland to 12, up 50 per cent since the beginning of the year.

Mefford will join the firm’s Edinburgh office in November.

Murray MacKay, executive director of Williams de Broë in Scotland, said: “Paul, Rosie, Catherine and Dougie Spence are all really good quality hires with existing client relationships … we sincerely hope some of their former clients and connections will follow them.”
