West Loch is described as the “perfect base” for visiting the islands of Islay, Jura, Arran and Gigha but also serves commercial customers due to the region’s strong salmon trade.

The hotel has now ceased trading as its owners Andrew and Rosaline Ryan focus on other business interests.

Josh Hill, business agent at Christie & Co, said: “We expect to see interest from a range of buyers including first-time buyers, experienced operators and developers.”

The business property specialist has also brought to the market the Conon Bridge Hotel just south of Dingwall.

The family-run inn, on the high street in the town of Conon Bridge, has 12 letting rooms, two bars with 80 covers and the 40-cover Crispins restaurant.

Located at the start of the North Coast 500, Conon Bridge Hotel is currently closed as its owners look to retire. It has been owned by the Proudfoot family and operated as a hotel for more than ten years.

The hotel is offered for sale on a freehold basis, with a fixed asking price of £195,000.

Stuart Drysdale, director at Christie & Co, who is handling the sale, said: “The Conon Bridge Hotel has unfortunately closed due to unforeseen circumstances and presents an excellent opportunity for an individual or couple to re-establish this small hotel in the village.”

It dates back to the 18th century.
