Tennent's brews up walk sponsorship

BREWING firm Tennent's has been named as the new title sponsor of the Caledonian Challenge.

The annual fundraising event offers participants "the walk of their lives", with some 1,000 people expected to tackle 54 miles of the Great Glen and West Highland ways in just 24 hours. The event, which has been sponsored by Royal Bank of Scotland for the three years, is expected to raise 1 million.

Tennent's managing director Mike Lees said: "When we learned that the Caledonian Challenge was without a sponsor in 2010, we were delighted to step in and support this great Scottish charity event."
