Ted Baker shrugs off high street slowdown as sales rise
Fashion retailer Ted Baker unveiled an 11.3 per cent rise in first-quarter revenues as it shrugged off concerns about a slowdown in the high street.
The company – which began life in 1988 with a store in Glasgow – said in a trading update that retail sales rose 12.7 per cent, while online transactions surged 32.3 per cent, as it hailed the strength of its brand in “challenging” trading conditions.
Ray Kelvin, founder and chief executive of Ted Baker, said: “We are very pleased with the response from our customers over this period.”
