Tech firm Administrate boosts headcount

Andrew Williams served as CTO and chief operating officer at Edinburgh-based Kotikan, which was acquired by Scottish-founded fantasy sports operator FanDuel last year for an undisclosed sum.

His appointment comes as Administrate prepares to host the LITE 2016 education technology conference in the Scottish capital in September. Among speakers lined up are record-beating Scottish cyclist Graeme Obree and video game legend John Romero, designer of titles such as Doom and Quake.

Administrate chief executive John Peebles said: “We’re delighted to welcome Andrew to the team as he brings the experience we need to scale our technical capability.

“We’re also proud of the fact that LITE isn’t another stuffy conference, but brings together people from all walks of life to discuss how we can further education. As an avid gamer and cyclist, I’m really excited to hear from some of the top people in those fields.”

Administrate said it currently employed 40 people across its offices in Edinburgh and Montana offices, with its team more than tripling in size last year “in response to significantly increased demand for its products from North America, the UK and the Middle East”.

The firm also pointed out that it was marking the first anniversary of introducing a four-day week for all staff.
