Taylor Wimpey buys second parcel of land at Southdale

HOUSE builder Taylor Wimpey has bought a second parcel of land at Southdale, the regeneration project in West Lothian that has been branded as one of the largest in the country.

Subject to securing planning permission, the firm wants to erect 85 homes on the site, having already constructed 87 dwellings on the nearby Ferrier Path development.

Pauline Mills, land and planning director for Taylor Wimpey East Scotland, said: “It is from the evidence of the success we have had to date with our first phase of homes and the confidence we have in the attractiveness of Southdale as a place to live, work and play that we have purchased this additional site.”

News of the Taylor Wimpey sale comes just a month after property developer EWP Investments sealed a deal to bring pub operator Marston’s to the site.

EWP has also signed an agreement with Arnold Clark to build a car showroom at Southdale.
