Sutherland’s new way

HIGHLANDS businessman David Sutherland is planning a new venture in Aberdeen as he prepares to step down as the head of Tulloch Homes after more than three decades at the helm.

He is already involved in tourism and farming and has a 50-50 joint venture with construction group ISG, as well as on-going support for Inverness Caledonian Thistle FC, where he is life president.

The 62-year-old will continue as a non-executive director at Tulloch, and retains a 43 per cent stake in the business. He will also spend two days a week as consultant in charge of an £80 million portfolio of property development joint ventures.

He will be replaced by his long-standing second in command, George Fraser.
