STV chief’s pay: Woodward pockets a 10% rise

STV’S chief executive Rob Woodward saw his total pay package rise by 10 per cent last year after picking up a £189,000 bonus.

Together with his £380,000 salary, benefits and pension, his package rose to £661,000 from £601,000 in 2013. Woodward’s bonus represented 46 per cent of the maximum bonus payable and was up from £129,000 in 2013.

Finance director George Watt received a £106,000 bonus on top of his £214,000 salary for a total package of £379,000, up from £346,000.

Strong growth in the television advertising market drove turnover and profits increases at STV last year, allowing the media group to boost its dividend by 300 per cent. Commissions won during the year included Catchphrase for ITV, The Link and Antiques Road Trip for BBC One, and Celebrity Antiques Road Trip for BBC Two.

• Devro, the Moodiesburn maker of sausage skins, said chief executive Peter Page’s total pay package fell to £498,000 last year, from £551,000 in 2013, a year that saw him receive £56,000 in long-term incentives.
