The company already has four properties in the Granite City, totalling 1,300 beds and its latest scheme – which will cost about £20 million – will have room for about 400 students.
Richard Simpson, Unite’s managing director of property, said the new scheme is close to Aberdeen University and has good transport links with Robert Gordon University, and the project will include the refurbishment of a derelict school building on the site.
