Student housing firm eyes 200-room Stirling scheme

Empiric, the student accommodation specialist, has paid £650,000 for a site in Stirling that it plans to develop into a scheme with about 200 beds.

The site, which has planning consent for residential apartments, sits within the Forthside regeneration area and is close to the city’s train station.

Empiric chief executive Paul Hadaway said: “This is the group’s first investment in Stirling, which has a very limited supply of purpose-built student accommodation.

“The city is also a 45-minute train journey to Glasgow, which will facilitate joint management opportunities with the group’s operations located there. The acquisition is in line with Empiric’s investment criteria and returns profile.”
